StarLine – National home-learning helpline

A national helpline has been set up for parents struggling with home-schooling and managing their child’s behaviour during the COVID-19 crisis.  The service, launched by a coalition of academy trusts and parenting groups, will offer advice to families on how to educate their children at home while schools remain closed amid the pandemic.  StarLine will be run by a team of teachers and education and parenting experts, who will share tips and resources to help home-learning.  They will also provide advice to parents on how to structure the day and how to deal with difficult behaviour.

Free programme of support and resources for all NHS keyworker parents and carers

Place2Be launched a free programme of support and resources for keyworker parents and carers, including all NHS colleagues, to support the mental health and wellbeing of their children. These resources are available online.

Place2Be are a children’s mental health charity with over 25 years’ experience working with pupils, families and staff in UK schools.

In addition to the webinars, they also opened access to their free art room resource pack for children and their parents/carers to craft and create together. The pack includes stories, instructions and activities exploring the ways in which parents and children can stay connected even when they’re spending more time apart.
