During the COVID-19 pandemic, The Childcare Support Service has not been able to offer the face-to-face support that is usually available to our NHS parents and parents-to-be. We want you to know that we are still here to support you through every step of your parenting journey. We recognise that this may be a particularly difficult time for expectant parents, those who may be experiencing isolation whilst on adoption or maternity leave, and those navigating returning to work during these uncertain times. In response to these challenges, we will be running a series of informal virtual sessions that we hope you will consider.

The “Coffee and Catch up” sessions are aimed at staff who are currently on adoption or maternity leave, but if you have already returned to work and wish to attend – all are welcome. They will be an opportunity to meet other parents, share experiences and spend some time socialising with people who will be experiencing similar ups and downs and challenges. You will meet other parents in a virtual environment and be able to offer peer support, a listening ear or even just vent about some of the things that you might be struggling with. You can also share your successes and milestones and build a small support network.  As everyone will be navigating life with an infant, these will be non-judgmental groups where babies are welcome and no one will mind if you have not had chance to brush your hair.

The next session date is 11 November 10.30-11.30 as part of our Informal Peer Support Forum.

If you would like to attend please email chidcare.coordinator@bdct.nhs.uk with your name, email address you would like the MS Teams invitation sending to, your phone number, the Trust you are  employed by and the session you would like to attend.
